In this customer application, plastic parts needed to be sorted correctly using vibration so that they could be recognized by a camera and picked up by a robot through coordinate transmission. This was necessary to ensure precise and efficient handling of the parts. The RBTX Varioshaker lite, a cost-effective product designed for simple applications from the RBTX range, was used in this example.

The Varioshaker lite was combined with a Rebel robot, an ifm 2D camera, and a Schunk EGP 25 gripper. The ifm 2D camera captured the position of the sorted plastic parts and transmitted the coordinates to the Rebel robot. The robot then used the Schunk EGP 25 gripper to precisely pick up and process the parts. This combination provided an efficient and cost-effective solution for the automated handling of plastic parts.

In this customer's application, plastic parts had to be reliably sorted into a fixture. Due to the tight tolerances, the decision was made to use the T3 Scara robot from EPSON.

With a repeat accuracy of approx. 0.02 mm, the high precision requirements were easily met. The versatile industrial robot offers an inexpensive entry-level solution for production lines.

With a payload of 3 kg, 400 mm reach and 0.02 mm repeatability, the compact T3 robot is ideal for simple pick-and-place applications.

In a current customer test, three similar workpieces are being used to demonstrate the efficiency and precision of a cobot. The cobot is programmed to pick up the components independently and insert them correctly into a fixture. This task demonstrates the cobot's ability to handle different objects and position them precisely, which is crucial for the automation of assembly processes. Cobots offer added value in production thanks to their flexibility and adaptability, as they not only increase efficiency but also help to reduce the workload on employees.

An igus Rebel Cobot is used for a specific task in the Customer Testing Area. The cobot, a collaborative robot, is programmed to pick up a small component from a conveyor belt and sort it accordingly.

The process begins when the conveyor belt transports the small component to the cobot. The cobot, equipped with a gripper, picks up the component and lifts it off the conveyor belt. The cobot then moves to the designated sorting area and places the component in the correct position. This process is repeated continuously to ensure efficient sorting of the components.

This test demonstrates the ability of the igus Rebel cobot to perform tasks with high consistency, making it a valuable tool in modern manufacturing. It also shows the benefits of automation, such as improving productivity and efficiency in production.
